The route finder
Plans the climb, so you can save your legs for the hunt.
Pick where you are and where you want to glass from. Hunt Sidekick works out three ways up, off trail, from BC's 1 m laser survey of the ground. It steers around what slows you down or gets you hurt, and times each route for your pack weight and your own pace.
- Cliffs and drop-offsKeeps its distance and tells you when it can't.
- Steep groundZigzags up slopes instead of going straight at them.
- Thick brush and blowdownUses forest records to favour open timber.
- Creeks and private landCounts crossings and warns about land at the ends.

The law is the law, not the app. Season dates and land records in Hunt Sidekick come from BC's published regulations and government data, and they can be out of date or wrong. Before you hunt, check the BC Hunting and Trapping Regulations Synopsis and any in-season changes. Routes are a plan, not a promise: read the ground, and turn back when it doesn't look right.
Be first on the hill with it.
